Guru Maharaj's Core Message - Ten Basic Principles of Sadhana

Guru Maharaj's message has the Ten Basic Principles of Sadhana, at the core. These principles provide the foundation for effortless spiritual growth.

1. God is the supreme power with no name or form, and you can choose a name of your liking.
2. To seek Him, you need not renounce either the world or the married life; you do not need to live a secluded life nor you need to become a wanderer. Those living with family and leading a "normal" life can still reach God.
3. In order to attain self-realization, you must find someone who has already attained self-realization and seek his guidance.
4. Bring inner happiness into your life, for it is a divine virtue.
5. Gyan (Knowledge) brings peace; you will not find it outside. It is within you, so you will need introspection and Satsang to be at peace.
6. You should continue to devote most of your time to your daily activities. However, while practicingSatsang, you should keep your mind clear of all worldly concerns.
7. As a Satsangi (seeker), two activities are very important for you - first, earning an honest living and second, keeping busy with work.
8. Knowledge is infinite. If your Guru cannot take you to your goal, then seek the guidance of another Guru. However, after finding an Atma-Gyani Guru(self-realized person), you should stay with him.
9. Do all worldly work with a spirit of service, not to rule or to own.
10. Live in this world as a guest. Believe that someone else owns everything in this world. Leave "me and mine," and learn "you and yours".

Change the World by Changing Me

The Sufi Bayazid says this about himself:

I was a revolutionary when I was young and all my prayer to God was: ‘Lord, give me the energy to change the world.’  

As I approached middle age and realised that half my life was gone without my changing a single soul, I changed my prayer to: ‘Lord, give me the grace to change all those who come in contact with me. Just my family and friends, and I shall be content.’  

Now that I am an old man and my days are numbered, my one prayer is: ‘Lord, give me the grace to change myself.’ If I had prayed for this right from the start I should not have wasted my life.

Seven Stages of Love

Arabic literature and sufi traditions describes seven stages of love 

Seven Stages of Love

1. Attraction: The first stage of love where eyes meet,spark is initiated and the journey of love begins.
2. Attachment : The second stage starts with fondness where a feeling of strong connection comes.
3. Love: The most blissful of all stages. Here you started feeling at top of the world unaware of other things in life just lost in thoughts of your beloved.
4. Trust/Reverence : This stage initiates the process in love which ultimately leads to death. Here one started trusting someone more than anything and anyone. After this there is no turning back in love.
5. Worship : In this stage love reaches at the extend of worshipping the beloved where nothing can be wrong with the object of worship.Here love not ends even after a denial by the beloved instead leads to the next stage of love.
6. Madness : In this stage one finds his own identity incomplete without beloved thus his urge to have love reaches to the level of obsession and madness. 
7. Death : The final stage of love now the self identity is completely lost. Here the existence of lover depends on the existence of beloved.

We can link all this stages of love with a person's quest to find god. One's mere attraction towards god leads him to the level of love where is own identity becomes the identity of his loved god. This attaches this concept of love to sufi traditions.

Maybe not today,or tomorrow,or even in a year,but eventually things will turn up, you will get better and be able to look back and say with relief: "I made it."  Remember that any time is good to start, And that no time is so good to give up. Words have great power to change your life.wrong words about yourself should not become your reality of life. so choose them wisely. Finally happiness comes when you serve others without any expectations be it your friends or strangers. So don't expect anything in return from anyone just share your love unconditionally.

Khwaja Mere Khwaja - English Translation

Hazrat Khwaja Ghareeb-un-Nawaz (Aka. KGN Ajmer Sharif) was born in Iran and later migrated to India (Ajmer, Rajasthan). He was the supporter of the weak, helper of the poor and gained much love and respect from all people. He is a descendant of Hazrat Ali, who was the son-in-law of Hazrat prophet Mohammed.

He, interpreted religion in terms of human service and exhorted his disciples "to develop river-like generosity, sun-like affection and earth-like hospitality." The highest form of devotion, according to him, was "to redress the misery of those in distress – to fulfill the needs of the helpless and to feed the hungry."  ~courtesy : Wikipedia
